Dr. Troy Hampton has traveled Myanmar for the first time in January 2014 with the Foundation Church Myanmar Team. He taught Bible school students and Elders who had traveled from across Myanmar. He taught basic anatomy, answered multitudes of questions. He then taught them basic triage and diagnosis. In addition, he provided and showed them how to use several kinds of medicines from, anti-fungal creams, antibiotics and treatments for Malaria.
We were shocked to learn literally every member of the churches in the outlying areas contracts Malaria every year. This disease is a plague upon the people. We were even more shocked to learn we could provide the treatment for one person for less than one dollar and relieve a great deal of suffering. Generous people who gave to Mission To Myanmar made it possible to buy a large quantity of Medicine to help alleviate the suffering.
Dr. Hampton was also able to examine the orphans and staff members. He provided treatment for things troubling them for years.
For the next five years Doctor Hampton has continued to be a vital part of our ministry and has since traveled to the mountains of Chin state and put on medical clinics and made house calls for sick villagers. He’s a great doctor!
