Pastor Mark Hamilton began supporting the work of Mission to Myanmar before there was even an official organization. He and his church, Providence Church of Mifflin, Ohio, encouraged us in a number of different ways and were always at the top of the list of significant annual contributors.
Mark’s wisdom and energy and his love for education were an inspiration for the work from its beginning. In his honor, Mission to Myanmar plans on naming the next building we want to construct in Myanmar after him. The building, Lord willing, will be called the Hamilton Education Center. Dr. Hamilton has been a longtime professor of philosophy on the staff of Ashland College and was well-known for his many lectures on famed Christian author C.S. Lewis. He also served on the NCAA ethics committee for a number of years.
The center will be home to Reformation Theological Seminary of Yangon as well as quarters for more than two dozen fatherless children and even serve as the home for Foundation Church of Myanmar’s home campus.
Thanks be to God for giving us men and women like Dr. Mark Hamilton.
